FUTSAL IS FUN!
Futsal is a fun, fast-paced, small-sided version of indoor soccer played between two teams of five players on a hard surfaced court roughly the size of a basketball court. There are line boundaries instead of walls, and the ball is a low bounce ball which tends to stay in play longer.
Futsal is played in all the continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players, and is officially recognized by both FIFA and UEFA. Soccer legends such as Pele, Zico, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Messi, Kaka, Iniesta, and Cristiano Ronaldo grew up playing the game and credit futsal with developing their skills.
What Are The Benefits Of Futsal?
First of all, futsal is FUN! Fun is key in motivating youth players to stay involved in the game and eventually practice on their own.
Futsal is an important part of a balanced soccer training program aimed at maximizing the individual development of youth players. Futsal is a great skill developer, maximizing touches on the ball while demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pinpoint passing. Players naturally develop the ability to operate successfully on the ball in tight spaces, under pressure.
The game also trains players to succeed in transition moments by forcing them to stay alert and alive at all times. Even defending is enjoyable because players quickly learn that successful defending can quickly turn into goal-scoring opportunities.
All of these developmental benefits stick with players and translate to more success in the outdoor game!
What Will A Typical Session Involve?
Each session will consist of focused technical work, focused tactical work, and plenty of time devoted to playing futsal! Within all that activity, the players will get plenty of breaks to hydrate and re-focus between activities.
What Should My Child Bring?
Players should bring an enthusiastic attitude, ready to learn and enjoy the game. After that, they should of course bring plenty of water, shin guards, and comfortable training attire.
FLAT-SOLED SHOES ARE A MUST!
We are also offering a Futsal League over the Winter Break if you would like to grab some friends and enter a team. Information can be found HERE
