Haley Pounds Selected to Attend 2013 ECNL-id2 National Training Camp

July 23, 2013

Haley Pounds (Challenge 96 ECNL) recently was selected to attend the 2013 ECNL/id2 National Training Camp, held August 2-6 in Beaverton, OR. Players were invited to participate in the camp based upon their performance in ECNL competitions, and in the ECNL Player Development Programs over the course of the year. This is part of the identification and developmental program the ECNL launched to support the National Team program. For more information, go to the ECNL website at http://www.eliteclubsnationalleague.com/.

“Haley is a class player and person who deserves this incredible honor. Players selected have been identified by the national staff and the club coaches we play against at national events and within our conference matches. Haley is the only player in Houston to have been selected to this elite event and her selection is a testament to the tradition we have here, at Challenge, of producing players worthy of competing at the highest levels in our Country. Our goal as a club is to consistently develop players and help them create opportunities for themselves in programs like this. We are always proud when our players are recognized, and we take great pride in assisting our players with opportunities to get exposure to the National Team.  Congratulations to Haley, we know she will have an awesome camp!!”  - Pat O’Toole, Director of Coaching

Stuart Self, Challenge ECNL Director, had this to say about Haley’s achievement: “Haley is one of the hardest working players in the country, and is deserving of every opportunity she gets to compete on a National Level. This is another example of Challenge’s commitment to player development, as well as the hard work that not only Haley puts in, but what all of our players do on a daily basis. Our goal is to help players get to the next level of play and we are always striving to create the best training environment in the country to help assist our players in achieving their goals of playing in college as well as State, Regional and National Teams.”
