Challenge 99 ECNL Goalkeeper and Texas A&M Commit, Olivia Ausmus, Highlighted in Top Drawer Soccer

August 20, 2014

Once again Top Drawer Soccer, the nation's leading online soccer publication, has highlighted a Challenge player; 99 ECNL goalkeeper and captain, Olivia Ausmus. A 2017 graduate from Klein High School, Olivia recently committed to Texas A&M University over a long list of elite programs and scholarship offers.

Ausmus is currently regarded as the top 2017 goalkeeper in Texas and one of the elite goalkeepers in the country. In the past year she has participated in US National Camps, US Regional Combines, US Training Centers, and Regional ODP camps. Known for her commanding and vocal presence, as well as her ability to make jaw dropping saves,  Olivia chose Texas A&M over the University of Notre Dame, Auburn University, the University of Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor University, TCU, and Oklahoma State.

"We are very proud of Olivia's development over the past few years, as well as her recent commitment to Texas A&M" says Goalkeeping Director and 99 ECNL Head Coach, Chris Maravalli. "Olivia navigated the college process in a very thoughtful manner and eliminated some outstanding schools, including some of the nation's most respected and elite soccer programs. Over the past year she has established herself as the top goalkeeper in Texas but she is a very hard worker and continues to strive to improve each day. Undoubtedly A&M will help continue her development and assist her in getting into the full National Team and professional soccer. No Houston program has sent more players to Aggieland than Challenge, and we look forward to continuing that pipeline for a long time! We have quite a few 99s/u16s with scholarship offers and will bemaking their college decisions in the near future."

Dedicated to helping EVERY player in our program, Challenge continues to lead the way in college placement assistance and numbers with over 30 players committed in the 2015, 2016, and 2017 classes. These commitments come from teams at ALL LEVELS, including: ECNL, Premier League, State Classic League, and EDDOA Division 1.
